University of Kentucky alum Cynthia “Cinthy” Fanning, is the current vice president of kitchen clean up products at GE Appliances. At the company’s Appliance Park global headquarters in Louisville, Kentucky, the $450 million installation of two new dishwasher manufacturing lines has created approximately 1,000 jobs in the Commonwealth.
On Sept. 12, the University of Kentucky will induct 20 alumni into the 2025 Hall of Distinguished Alumni, including five Pigman College of Engineering alumni. The alumni will be honored for their meaningful contributions to the Commonwealth, nation and the world.

Jeffrey C. Graham, a 2003 civil engineering and UK Army ROTC graduate, was serving as 2nd lieutenant in the U.S. Army when he died of injuries sustained from both an improvised explosive (IED) and small-arms fire during Operation Iraqi Freedom. 2nd Lt. Graham is credited with saving numerous lives due to the actions he took at the time of the incident and is recalled as a hero by military officials.
The Pigman College of Engineering is proudly announces the establishment of the Clifford Cremers and Eric Cremers Chair in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. This endowment is made possible through a generous gift from mechanical engineering alumnus, Eric Cremers ’84 and his wife Laura, in honor of Eric’s late father, Clifford Cremers.
S. Zebulon “Zeb” Vance received the Joseph T. Burch Young Alumni Award on Friday, June 27 during the University of Kentucky Alumni Association's 2025 Distinguished Service Awards. These awards are presented each year to individuals who have provided extraordinary service to the University of Kentucky, the UK Alumni Association and their communities.
