UK Appropriate Technology and Sustainability

The University of Kentucky Appropriate Technology and Sustainability Research Team (UKATS) was established in 2011 and is focused on the application of appropriate technology for underdeveloped regions. The UKATS team has included 13 current and former students from the Paducah Campus with the help of local high school students. UKATS works in collaboration with NGOs internationally. UKATS has received funding from the US EPA’s People, Prosperity and the Planet program as well as from private donors in the Paducah area and beyond.

Mission: UKATS is committed to the sustainable development and enhancement of technologies applicable to underdeveloped regions, focusing on environmental, social and economic responsibilities.
